We met Oliver and Octavia at the Norfolk Brides wedding fair at Drayton Old lodge last year; we hit it off straight away so, when they invited us to join them at their French beach house in Normandy for a few days last September we didn’t hesitate to say yes!

Years ago, Octavia’s grandfather used to go caravanning in France and one year the plot of land he used to pitch his caravan on came up for sale. He bought the land and built a beach house and it has remained within the family and enjoyed for summer holidays ever since. The beach house is full of knick-knacks collected over three generations. The walls are full of art made by Octavia’s grandmother and sculptures made by the family over the years.

We spent a few days checking out the local area and Octavia and Oliver took us to some of their favourite spots so we could take some photos of them together; we visited the beach, a castle, some local villages and a lovely rustic market.

Oliver and Octavia really spoilt us during our stay with them. Waking up to fresh brioche for breakfast and offered delicious nibbles and Champaign in the evenings. Oliver’s cooking was one of the highlights of our stay with the couple, he rustled up amazing meals night after night!

Last weekend, we caught up with the couple again to discuss their wedding plans. We were invited over to their lovely country cottage in Norfolk for Sunday lunch where we chatted about their big day plans and met the garden chickens! We got the opportunity to visit their local village church where Oliver and Octavia will say their vows, but not before Oliver white washes the interior church walls and trims the hedges himself in preparation for their big day!

Opposite the church, the reception will be held in a cute little village hall with a marquee out the back, the local pub with brightly coloured mismatching benches outside is acting as the wedding watering hole for the day. Role on July as we are so looking forward to capturing this wedding!
